Full Electric Tugboat EPC Project
云港电拖一号
It is the first fully electric coastal tugboat independently constructed in China. This fully electric tugboat uses a lithium iron phosphate(LFP) battery pack as its power source and can achieve the performance of a 4,000-horsepower conventional tugboat. It can replace traditional high-power fuel-powered tugboats and contribute to the construction of green and low-pollution ports. "Yunhang Diandu No.1" is mainly used to assist large ships in berthing and unberthing in the Lianyungang waters. It can perform push and reverse towing operations. The total length of the ship is 35.5 meters, the width is 10 meters, the depth is 4.5 meters, and the draft is 3.5 meters. The speed is not less than 13 knots. One charge can meet the electricity demand for a day. The total power capacity is designed to be 5,000 kilowatt-hours, which can achieve the performance of a 4,000-horsepower conventional tugboat. It is a steel fully welded, single deck, inclined keel, forward inclined stem, round corner square, power battery-powered, dual frequency motor-driven full turning rudder and propeller ship type. In the main power system, the lithium iron phosphate battery pack is used to replace the conventional diesel generator set as the main propulsion power. The ship is designed with multiple battery groups that can serve as backups for each other, equivalent to having multiple diesel generator sets configured for the conventional tugboat. The noise is greatly reduced, and it is completely "zero emission" operation, meeting the emission requirements of the emission control zone for coastal and port-in transit ships in China. Each ship can reduce approximately 900 tons of sulfur oxides and 12 tons of sulfur compounds per year, equivalent to the emission reduction of more than 300 cars. The environmental benefit is huge. In terms of safety, compared with flammable and explosive fuels such as diesel and liquefied gas, the safety coefficient of the fully electric ship is high, and there is no operational risk.

云港电拖二号
It is currently(before 2024) the port operation tugboat with the largest horsepower in the world, equipped with a total capacity of 7224 kWh of lithium iron phosphate batteries. It supplies power to all onboard equipment through the power distribution system, and is powered by dual variable-frequency motors driving the full-rotation rudder and propeller. The charging time is 3 hours, and the combined operation for assistance berthing and other tasks lasts for 9 hours, meeting the daily operation requirements. It is the largest in terms of battery capacity and highest in propulsion power among all electrically powered tugboats in the world.
